Taliban enter Palai, kill Levies soldier

PESHAWAR: Taliban blew up a security checkpost in the so-far peaceful Palai area of Malakand, killing one Levies personnel and abducting three others, locals said on Sunday. Residents of Palai area told Daily Times by telephone that about four vehicles full of Taliban came to Palai area and surrounded a checkpost. Muhammad Ayaz Bacha, whose house is situated near the checkpost, said that the heavily-armed Taliban first opened fire on the post killing a Levies soldier, and then abducted three others.Taliban retained control of Palai area for about 14 hours and blocked the roads linking the town to Mardan and Dargai. akhtar amin
